Sirens For Homeless Project

Random Acts partnered with AFD, APD, AAS, BCSO, and BCFD to collect food for the 5000+ homeless children that attend APS here in Albuquerque. The barrels were dropped off at over 80 locations around town including 13 area businesses and all the police and fire stations. After two weeks out in public, a PSA on the airwaves advertising, and a phone bank on Kasa2’s morning show we went around and gathered all the barrels. We are elated to say we collected over two tons of food and toiletries and collected nearly $2500 for the APS Title 1 Homeless Project to distribute. We could not have down this without all of our amazing volunteers, the police, firefighters, and EMS providers, the business owners that opened up their stores to us, and the countless donors that went out and filled the barrels. Thank you to each and every one of you… you have assuredly impacted the life of children here in Albuquerque who desperately needed you. They will be fed over a weekend, go to school clean, have the needed supplies to be successful, and perhaps not have torn, ratty clothes. Thanks so much to each and every one of you.
